"Volunteering and/or helping others helps me remember what’s important in life." -K. Wiegand
"To me, volunteering is a God-given opportunity to share His love to others: a smile, a hug, a listening ear, a few words letting others know we really care; and all these things come without costing a cent. In so doing we gain many “new” friends; in fact, it’s more like gaining a family and you know: no act of love, however small, is ever wasted." -C. Nohl
"I love to be with people of all ages, trying to help a little or cheer them up, whether in the hospital or nursing home. This is very rewarding to me. I will continue to volunteer until I’m no longer able, and then maybe someone will tend to my needs. I enjoy volunteering at the nursing home, as I get to know a lot of people and learn their names and personalities." -S. Banwart

Some of the ways our volunteers enhance the residents' living experience are:
- Visiting with residents; reading or writing letters
- Taking residents out for walks, shopping trips, meals and coffee
- Assist with activities, parties and family nights
- Leading games or providing entertainment
- Painting, maintaining flower beds, sewing
- At-home volunteering such as baking, hosting luncheons, mending, typing
- Evening and weekend volunteering in most of the above areas
If you have a special talent you would like to share, we would love to hear from you. Our residents enjoy a wide variety of activities, whether it be cooking, playing an instrument, singing, telling stories, or making crafts, to list a few.
Please consider sharing some of your time with our family - not only will you enhance the lives of those living at our home, but you will reap the benefits of joyful giving and sharing.
